What will you do?
Job Summary:
You are the leader in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of programs and systems that ensure we take environment, health and safety to the highest level. You promote a culture of proactivity, responsibility, involvement and sustainability. This key role will lead on EHS matters to ensure the company meets or exceeds regulatory, corporate and industry standards.
Your responsibilities:
- Supports the development, implementation and management of safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable environmental standards.
- Investigates and maintains records of all work-related injuries and/or illnesses.
- Manages sustainability actions to minimize hazardous/non-hazardous waste, water emissions, air emissions, energy consumption and other related environmental activities.
- Leads oversight to conduct thorough and timely incident investigations that identify countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
- Works with local management to promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory compliance.
- Maintains and assesses and reports EHS performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing preventive and corrective actions as required.
- Conducts internal EHS audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Works with local leadership team to ensure all key EHS operational controls are in place and EHS action items are resolved in a timely manner.
- Coordinates and provides all legally required tests and training.
- Manages and maintains site-specific internal EHS systems and reporting tools.
- Ensures timely coordination of all legally required testing and training, including assigned industrial hygiene testing.
- Manages compliance with all regulatory EHS regulations, permits, training, reporting and company policies/procedures for assigned location(s).
What do we ask of you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or a closely related field (NEBOSH).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field of EHS, preferably in a production environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and come to sound conclusions.
- Strong skills in organization, prioritization and managing multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to actively participate in team-oriented processes, influence team engagement and guide team decision-making towards conclusions/solutions.
- Knowledge of current safety and loss control practices is essential.
